Tom was literally a power boat racer at birth. His Father and Grandfather both participated in the sport, introducing Tom to power boat racing. As a teenager Tom competed in High speed Water Ski Racing in Southern Ca. Northern Ca.Neveda,and Arizona Events from high speed circle racing to Long distance marathon endurance events, plus the World Famous Catalina Ski Race event participared/Skied in this event 6 times several classes and Over the Next 30 Years that followed Tom Got Married and started a family of three children, who are involved with the racing career and are very supportive.

Tom's motor racing career has touched all facets; a coordinator of motocross racer support programs for Honda including supervision of such motorcycle super-stars as Jeremy McGrath, six years of off-road racing in Baja during the mid-1980s.

Tom crewed for Mission Possible and a blown alcohol drag hydro sponsored by Mission Foods which set a new world speed record of 227.88 MPH with a 5.43 second E.T. in the quarter mile in 1997.

In 1998, Tom fielded his own Factory 1 offshore race team, "Controlled Chaos/Mission Foods" in the west coast POPRA race series. In his first year of ocean racing competition, Tom scored two first place victories plus numerous other high placing, earning him the 1998 driver and throttleman high points championship for the season.

In 1999, Tom moved up a notch, sharing the cockpit and driving duties of the "TEAM ELIMINATOR" Factory 2 class entry with Brent Leach. With Tom at the helm, "TEAM ELIMINATOR" was a force to be reckoned with at every event, establishing a perfect finish record for the year, and winning the Oceanside Grand Prix. "TEAM ELIMINATOR" competed at the season ending 1999 APBA Offshore World Championships in St. Petersburg, Florida, placing a solid fifth overall in the final points standings out of a tough 26 boat field comprised of the best offshore racers in the country.

Campaigning 2 boats in the 2001 series, Factory 2 F2-12, and the #7 Super Cat Light Eliminator taking 3rd at the world Championships in the Super Cat Light Class, in Key West Florida in November 2001 at the APBA national event.

Ending the 2002 season as POPRA's high points champion in the Super Cat Light Class. Then returning to the World Championships in Key West Florida in November of 2002. In the two race series "TEAM ELIMINATOR" finished 5th overall in this fast growing competitive class.
